Under NEP 2020, the Foundational Stage is the first of four school stages and the only one that begins before Class 1. It covers ages three to eight: three pre-primary years, then Classes 1 and 2. Treating those five years as one continuous stage is the policy's central move. It says that what happens at three is not a waiting room for school but the beginning of it, and that the child who arrives in Class 1 has already been at school for three years.
At Arsoum the whole school is this stage. We do not teach Class 1, so nothing here is designed around getting a child ready for the next corridor — the four years are the point, not the preparation.
